Grow local!

NOTICE: Ucluelet Local Food Society is voluntarily dissolving operations.

Ucluelet Local Food Society wishes to announce that our not-for-profit Society will voluntarily cease operations as of November, 2021.

We wish to thank our local businesses, the District of Ucluelet, and individuals who, over the years, have supported our activities.

Incorporated as a not-for-profit under the BC Societies Act in 2O16 our small committed group of volunteers proudly served Ucluelet, and our surrounding communities, with various programs providing opportunities for gardeners to obtain skills, knowledge, and participate in seed sharing, in order to enhance local food security.

The balance of Ucluelet Local Foods Society's assets will be donated to the BC Societies registered not-for-profit: Tofino Community Food Initiative and material support to the Wya Junction garden in support of the UFN garden.

Ukee Grow Local Food:

Ucluelet is nestled beside the rugged Pacific Northwest shoreline where cedar, hemlock and spruce run up to the land's edge, dipping roots defiantly against open pacific swells. Moss, and ferns hide among the trees finding protection from strong salty winds. Over three metres of rain falls in our temperate ecoregion. Our only major connector for goods and services is a 100-kilometre road that zigzags east 100 kilometres through a mountain-pass doorway...
